UK ENGLISH Essential Information
The essay is worth 70% of your grade, and should be 3,000 words maximum (excluding bibliography). Choose one question for your essay title:
‘State behaviour in the international system is shaped by norms and ideas, rather than material interests’. Discuss with reference to at least two different theoretical perspectives.
Critically assess the prospects for peace and security in world politics in the 21st century. Discuss with reference to at least two different theoretical perspectives.
Deadline: Submit by 12pm via Moodle on Friday 13th January 2023
Essay Advice
The essay questions have been designed so that you can explore the relationship between the theories on the module. This is an opportunity for you to reflect on where you might theoretically position yourself in relation to the questions.
You should therefore pick a side in the debate and write a confident answer to the question.
Remember to draw upon evidence at all times – a good essay will strike a balance between theory and empirical examples.
